OBJECTIVES OF THE COMPETITION

The FIRAT-SRG best research project award is to promote recognition of research students who are contributing to the development and solving problems that are slowing down the economic growth of the nation.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

CATEGORY A

  • Applicants must have deep interest for research
  • Applicants must be between the ages of 15 – 35 years
  • Applicants must be a registered student in any Nigerian Higher Institutions
  • Synopsis and evidence of project executed

SELECTION PROCEDURE

The Selection procedure shall be in two stages. The public will participate in democratically evaluating and selecting projects most relevant as adjudged from their needs and the development needs of citizens in the country. An executive summary and a 3minutes visual presentation of the project will be allowed.  The materials will be available online to a wide range of people.  This level of selection reinforces the essence of making projects relevant to development needs.

 A voting system shall be put in place and Nigerians from all walks of life will be eligible to vote projects for relevance.  The first 50 most relevant project entries will be selected into stage 2.

 The second stage shall consider the technical, economic relevance, and development productivity potential of the projects to rank them.  A technical committee comprising of academic and research leaders, business experts, economists, and experts from industries will be put together for the purpose.

The best 3 students in the POSTGRADUATE students’ category win cash prizes of N250,000 (1st prize), N200,000 (2nd prize), and N150,000 (3rd prize).

  1. Click the REGISTER HERE BUTTON, This would lead you to a checkout page.
  2. After you have checked out successfully, click the FILL IN YOUR DETAILS HERE button, this should lead you to a form where you would fill in your details. PLEASE GET THE FOLLOWING READY BEFORE FILLING THE FORM
  • A brief introduction about yourself
  • Why people should vote for your project
  • Title of your project
  • Abstract/Summary
  • An additional short video about the project not more than 3 minutes long which is not mandatory , but is a plus for whoever is able to upload it.
  1. Then you can also join the community and engage in discussions about different Topics.

  • STEP 1 : Click on the registration button, (make sure you are registering for the category you belong to ). OR CLICK HERE
  • STEP 2: If you are not automatically logged in, you should be able to login through the login icon above the menu bar, or follow this
  • STEP 3: After logging in, you would have access to the community forum and you woul be able to make contact with other members through the integrated community platform.
  • STEP 4: Report back to this page and fill in your abstract by clicking the button above or CLICK HERE
  • STEP 5: After submitting the abstract, you would get a preview of your entries, and you would get aconfirmation after submitting the form. You should also receive a confirmation email, containing the details of your submission.
  • STEP 6: After the Abstrac submission duration has ened, there would be a 15 day interval for the undergrauate and postgraduate voting preparation. And then the voting starts.
  • NOTE :- Those who wish to upload a video should prepare a short description for the video. All submitted videos would be displayed on the website for voting and the ones with the best votes would also be taken into consideration.
