BACKGROUND

Foresight Institute of Research and Translation (FIRAT) is a private research institute established in 2018 with the view to transform lives through research, training, and innovations. It seeks to promote research and bridge the gaps between research and implementation.

The year 2021 birthed the FIRAT-Students Research Group (FIRAT-SRG) to encourage and support innovative research among students within the ambit of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), African Union Development Agenda, and individual student career development plan; promoting the translation of research efforts into developing products for enhancing the local economy, international trade and visibility of the nation.

The Foresight Institute of Research and Translation-Student Research Group (FIRAT-SRG) is a platform for students in higher institutions, both undergraduates and postgraduates, to engage in impactful research and compete for innovation.  FIRAT-SRG provides support to enable research students to become skilled researchers, productive entrepreneurs, and competent professionals in their chosen careers.

It is expected that the services of the group will contribute to empowering students through its numerous activities such as research capacity training, research talks, seminars, lectures, mentoring programs, internship programs, and research tours.

In order to award excellence and promote the best research project ideas that impact development, FIRAT-SRG is inviting applications from undergraduate and post-graduate students who are eligible for this award.

CATEGORIES

Category A: The FIRAT-SRG best research project award is to promote recognition of research students who are contributing to the development and solving problems that are slowing down the economic growth of the nation.
